NICARAGUA – Nicaragua’s horizontal tribar, made up of a blue, white, and blue color pattern, was adopted in 1971. At the center of the middle white stripe is the country’s coat of arms which features an equilateral triangle representing equality. Inside the triangle are five volcanoes, symbolizing the five members of the federation. The triangle also contains symbols of liberty and peace.
