The liver is one of our largest organs and performs numerous essential functions. Our spleen plays a crucial role in the immune system and stores blood for times of crisis.

Students make their liver using the colorful parts working alone or in small groups. They use their model to identify the main parts of the liver including the left lobe, right lobe, caudal lobe, quadrate lobe, hepatic artery, portal vein and gall bladder.

They can then make their model spleen that shows its shape and major blood vessels.

The easy to make models can then be used to discuss function of the liver and spleen.
