They're made from crops that grow back every year, and they can be composted commercially (where facilities exist) and returned to the soil to help new plants grow. Compatible flat- and dome-lid options (sold separately) allow you to use the same cup type for both cold and frozen drinks. They're BPI certified compostable and ASTM compliant.
