The Soxhlet Distillation Apparatus, or continuous cycle extraction apparatus, is typically used when a compound has a limited solublility or when the impurity is insoluble in a solvent. It efficiently recycles a small amount of solvent to dissolve a large amount of material. Extraction cycles automatically restart once the solvent solution reaches the siphon tube.
